About ArumSoft Learning
ArumSoft Learning is a free library of written tutorials for the software people use every day: Excel, Word and PowerPoint today, with Google Sheets and Google Docs next. There's no account, no subscription and no paywall.
Why written tutorials
A good written guide lets you skim to the step you need, copy the exact formula, and work at your own pace. Every tutorial here starts with what you'll be able to do, walks through numbered steps, points out where versions differ, and ends with something to practice. Many Excel guides include a live sheet that checks your formula as you type it, and free practice files and templates are on the Resources page.
How the tutorials are made
Every tutorial is written for this site, with its own explanations, sample data and illustrations. Each one is built around a small, realistic example, such as a product list, a household budget or a class schedule, so you can see why a step matters as well as how to do it. Tutorials are revised when the software changes, and each page shows when it was last updated.
Editorial standards
- Clear scope. Each tutorial says which versions it applies to. When steps have been checked in a specific version, the tutorial shows that version and the date.
- Real examples. Formulas are shown exactly as you'd type them, with a copy button, and practice boxes check your answer.
- Corrections. Software changes. If a step no longer matches what you see, let us know and we'll fix it.
